I recently purchased my first Benz (2000 C280 w/36k). The car ran fine for
a couple of days then it kept stalling. A friend hooked his $4k auto computer
up to it and said the MAF is defective. My question is: Are there tools like
this available for purchase to the consumer? I had a VW with a VAGCOM
cable and software on my laptop that did the diagnostics and other simple
configuration changes (reset codes, changing idle, testing components etc.).
I'd like to have something like this for this car as well. Thanks.

those products can only display information, as far as I can tell... I have vag-com for my audi... I can do diagnostics, change system settings, match and configure electronic keys...
We need software for the MB, for example how to activate the tv button..

Yeah, I found the Ottoscan for $389. I liked the VAGCOM I had when I had
my VW. I'm glad to see products out there (just wish they were a little cheaper.
