Im near Southampton in the UK,
Ive just had a chat with Peter on the phone and ive got my plan sorted.
I will Order the Multiplexer he suggested, then im going to play around with star SDS for a while the normal verison, then i will end up buying Peters version which is luxury.
at the moment im not in a financial way to buy Peters gear just yet, but i hope too soon.
He has already paid for the fee in customer service! Thank you Peter, You are really a true hero for us DIY Mechanics getting into SDS!!!!
and thanks turbonos7 for your offer of help thats also appreciated.
im very happy that there are so many people around who want to help each other with problems with their car for the passion they have. Its truly amazing. Everyone says people are more concentrated on money and greed for themselves, but just tell them to visit a car forum and see the amount of experience and help the experienced are giving the newbies! Truly Amazing.
Thanks to you all for your assiatance in helping myself a 19 year old student try and maintain his 2003 E320 Cdi

Out Of Control!!
A few questions;
Will a Dell E6400 or E6410 do the job?
What is the best source for the interface? Are there some to stay away from?
And last, Anyone near Charlotte NC have one and a little time??![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Folks, what is the latest suite of service and diagnostic tools with Mercedes?
For 2020 and beyond models, such as V167 (GLE) and W223 (S-Class), do these new platforms use DAS/Xentry and WIS/EPC/ASRA?
I thought I read somewhere that EPC is being phased out. Is this correct?

Hi brother, I have a mercedes E-class w211 from 2003. I bought an openport 2.0 and I'm trying to connect with xentry passthru from 2020, only however I try I can't find even a car ECU. Now I'm trying to download 2018 xentry, I had read that cars before 2005 did not read some ECUs but since I just wanted to do basic things I had thought about buying the openport anyway .. I read that something works for you, you could help me? Thanks a lot!
if you can't afford a good system, better go for a Foxwell NT510
you will have basic features, but that corresponds to the money you spend
#34
be aware it is very limited but you want just all ecus and basics
this is what you get for 100$
don't dream, but it might fit what you need

[QUOTE = pmercury; 8189466] ecco
che è molto limitato ma vuoi solo tutti gli ecu e le basi
questo è ciò che ottieni per 100 $
non sognare, ma potrebbe adattarsi a ciò di cui hai bisogno

Grazie fratello!
Dici foxwells Icarsoft sono meglio?

Quick question for most experience members.
I own a 2013 W639 and I am thinking to install Xentry Passthru and get one of those J2534 interfaces.
Can I activate features like reverse camera, Command APS NTG 2.5 stuff, etc with above system?
Thanks, Martin

I bought the proper multiplexer from alibaba and haven’t looked back. Enables you to access all control modules and supports everything star needs.
id say the answer to your question is possibly, but most likely no.

There is no need to pay big for Xentry set up. Most people in this forum only need access to Xentry for reading codes, clearing codes, live data and so on. As OP mentioned he is happy with his Xentry Passthru and Tactrix device set up. I can take care of either Xentry Openshell(C4) or Xentry Passthru(J2534 device) set up for anyone that is interested. Some guys in here want to make it seem like they hold some magic wand when it comes to Xentry activation...... Not the case!!!!! I run 3 laptops with Xentry Openshell and 1 with Xentry Passthru at my shop..... I program and code all day long. I also provide programming for many shops in the Houston area and around the country. Not only do they get my support with the software they also get my experience working with Mercedes Benz vehicles since 2006.
Can the passthrough talk to SBC and ESP, complete Deactivate, Brake Bleed and Reactivate? Also code the new SBC unit once installed? And lastly, reset those pesky SBC Counters.
Very interested in this and would LOVE your help!

you need a C4 ideally with the star system not pass thru to achieve this!

Hello guys,
So I'm sharing with you my experience for those who wanna perform offline coding/programming using Xentry DAS and Tactrix OpenPort 2.0. Actually, I bought a cheap Tactrix OpenPort module from China around $30 bucks and the issue is that the data rate exchange is not entirely compatible with DAS. It is working fine apparently using Xentry but not using DAS and as you know DAS is for MB cars mostly old (mainly between 2005-2006 I would say).
As a matter of fact, I bricked my instrument cluster (w169 car from 2004) while attempting to update the software module using offline coding (option: control unit adaptation). However, it may be possible to still use Tactrix (chinese clone) to perform updates but you would need to entirely remove the instrument cluster and perform some manual wiring setup.
Here is the video explaining the steps for those who want to experiment (subtitles in English):
So, I've ended buying another module to program my module which, hopefully, will not stop during upload of the update processing. Hope I can fix my dashboard for now I'm driving without any indications (totally black instrument cluster even the km/h are not moving)...
Cheers all

Hello guys,
Some updates just to let you know that I finally fixed my car! If you search on google 'W169 bricked' on another forum you can see my journey into this somehow horrible and scary situation... driving without instrument cluster for a while mate it was crazy. Just to let you know, MB dealers were asking crazy amount of money (350EUR just to perform diagnosis then 170EUR/hour for labours for unknow time of labour and on top of that I would had to pay for the hardware even if it's a very old car = around 800EUR somewhere there). As you can imagine, that would have been crazy and MB dealers usually don't like to troubleshoot the issue 'out of the box' I'm pretty sure since they couldn't reflash the cluster they would have just ditched it.
So the issue was not entirely due to that Chinese Tactrix module, I skip the details but I reflashed my cluster on the bench using... that Tactrix device as per my previous post helped with some nice hints from MBCoding (MBCoding if you read this post, you are THE MAN!! Thanks buddy).
