Inside photo of Bosch HID ballast for W211
Hi,

I had a HID ballast go bad on my 2008 Mercedes E300 (W211) recently and replaced it. It's a Bosch 5DC 009 060-00 (Mercedes A 211 870 90 26).

Using a Dremel tool, I tore apart the defective ballast to see what was inside, out of interest. The link below is a high res photo of the circuit card inside the unit.

It was possibly water that got into the unit that killed it; when I opened the lid, water drained from the unit.
