Can someone help me understand the Active Lane Departure Warning?
I have a 2020 CLA 250 just purchased a week ago. It has the complete Driver Assistance Package. I understand and know how to operate most of the features on there, like the Active Distance Distronic cruise control, Active Lane change assist, blind spot detection.
But there is something I am confused on the drifting out of lane or lane departure warning because I do not sense it doing anything. So I have Distronic on, lane marking icons are in green , the steering wheel icon is also in green. The Active Lane Keeping assist is checked ON in the settings. When I try to purposely depart a lane to get a feel of what it does, it does nothing. On the Mercedes videos it shows that when lane markings are crossed there is a warning display on the guage and also there will be a haptic feedback on the steering wheel. I have tried many times to try to replicate this, but it doesn't give me any kind of warning on the guage or the steering wheel.
In cruise control Distronic it follows the car fine and stays in the lanes very well, I am just looking for that lane departure warning.
Anyone has any knowledge about this safety feature? Am I missing the point on how the system works?
Thanks!!!
