Anyone with insight on an m271 with 716 manual transmission (if that is even applicable with Mercedes-Benz) for activating Distronic would be helpful.
I know Steve stated in the first post that the car he upgraded was swapped from manual to automatic, but in all the years gathering and buying parts, that was never made clear as an absolute prerequisite.
These docs show the ME in the w203.040 able to utilize Distronic (A89n1 but as with w211) and shows in w211 Distronic evaluating the shift signals and sending corresponding signals to the ME for the purpose of speed limitation...
So, maybe an emulator? And if so, does it want actual gear input or just (Hopefully) PRND?
My MY2005 C230 (Built 30/11/2004) has factory cruise control with memory and resume...so I worked planning this generation of Distronic would fair okay with a manual...
Also, my thinking was (with these docs) the w211 was offered ROW in manual (and with m271 power) and everything in Germany especially is optioned as add ons, so surely the w211 could have been built to order as manual with DTR...
