Hello,
I was wondering what tool do dealers use to program keys, correct odometer etc.. I found info about the Abrites AVDI, but at 800€ do you know what it does? If it is good value? I'd like to program a new style key on my W219, and when I see the prices of new new-style MB keys on ebay and their prices at the dealer, I'd really like to do it myself.
Thanks)

They dont. Its all centralized with special hardware and software---however you may want to take a chance on the many russian and chicom sites that sell replacement keys

The only keys being programmed at the dealer are the new DAS4, which started around 2015. The dealer can add a key if one key is present and they can order a new one if the car is at the dealer. Abrites can make keys but not for 800 euros. You need to purchase several additional packages. There are some cheaper options like CGDI MB and VVDI MB. Don't know how well these work.
