CLSSUPERCHARGED

Hi guys recently i was driving and suddenly heard a strange noise frm the car and I think i smelt plastic anyway i drove home and the noise got louder by the time i got home it was as loud as it got so the next day i tried to start it and 5 seconds in it started making a light grinding noise and then a loud tapping noise started from around the top of the supercharger turned the car off i then noticed something on the floor which now after some research found out that the hub cover plate for the aircon compresor has broken off the car
is a cls55 kompressor amg what could this be and can I do any process of elimination myself thank u
