Does Hardware ID in DAS change over time? Expired software

Hi guys!

Trying to get the old C4 Star hardware working again.

Since the laptop batteries have long ago died, I just reset the clock to 2015 and the software hasn't given me any issues yet
(the last time I tried to use it 3 years ago, it showed the software expired).

I noticed when I go into DAS, that the Hardware ID may have changed since the first time I used the system (~8 years ago)
Does this effect anything?

If I recall, when I bought it, i had to send the Hardware ID to the vendor, to get a registration file, that I had to merge into the registry.

So back to my question, do I need to update the registry with the new Hardware ID?
Anybody know where I can make an updated registration file? (the ebay vendor has long since disappeared)

Anybody know implications of otherwise expired software?
(I saw a post saying CAN Diagnosis was an issue, but it seems isolated to him)

Most chinese installs install their own protection in case of cloning. Not sure if this is what your are dealing with. 8 year ago Xentry install were different as they used windows XP. Now they use windows 10 64 bit and is easier to install.
