calling all ABC compression fit repairs

Good evening all,

I am about to join two lines on my CL63 (rear struts flexi to hard pipe) I will be getting my local Pirtek branch to make up the new hose for the new struts and then link them to the car using 10mm compression couplers. The reason for this is I no longer trust the quick release system to join the struts to the car now they have been disturbed.

I have watched many videos on similar repairs including for ruptured lines and hard to reach places, in particular there's a good thread about an almost impossible line to replace on the R230 without removing the engine, so a compression joint and small section of hose is implemented.

My question is before I tackle this later in the week are there any tips from people that have done these repairs? Also, since doing the repairs how reliable are the fittings, and are they standing up to the job?

Many thanks
