Question Gauges quit

I have a 2007 CLK350. Two years ago Auto zone replaced my battery with a smaller size. Here the other day my battery went dead from listening to the radio. I got a jumped start and my car was fine except the gas and coolant gauge lights along with the read out display on the center of the instrument cluster do not work. In the right light I can tell my gauges are working just extremely difficult to see. My speedometer, tachometer and clock work and the dimmable light function for those three gauges works also. I've replaced the battery with a correct Mercedes battery and that didn't fix the problem. I've checked all the fuses and they all seem to be good. Any ideas?
