Swapping ECUs/engines?

Hi, I'm in a process of converting S400 with M272 engine into a non-hybrid. The car has ME17.7 ECU. A stand alone M272 engine in other cars which are not hybrids is using ME9.7 ECU. Variant coding of ME17.7 gets rid of all the errors except for some high voltage missing errors and the engine does not start. Of course the hybrid stuff has already been removed and torque converter, flywheel, starter etc have already been replaced with correct parts and the engines turns, it just does not fire up.

So I've got a ME9.7 ECU from a E350, virginized and trying to program it. But so far without success, even though I select S350 (which had M272 as well), the ECU is not being recognized/can not be initialized using DAS.

Has anyone managed to swap engines/ECUs between different models and how was the ECU reprogrammed? Is DAS developer mode sufficient or is Vediamo necessary? Any suggestions on how to move forward? Should I virginize ME17.7 and will it be accepted for the non-hybrid configuration of M272 which normally runs with ME9.7 ECU? Thanks!!!

Wish i could help, but i have no experience in this realm
have you asked the question in the right forum,...
Since I don't know the year, I am not sure if it is w222 or w221. (of course this question may be silly to those who know)
but maybe someone in the specific forum may know..
