2016 GLE won’t shift into reverse
Can anyone help with possible cause of why my GLE intermittently will not move when shifted into reverse? It feels like the trans is in reverse, but it’s like it’s locked. I can shift to neutral or drive and it will move fine, it’s only reverse that it locks and won’t move. If I keep shifting it, it frees up or if I press the accelerator pedal it might make a noise like something stuck and it backs up. Any ideas? Thanks, Glenn

How long have you owned the vehicle, and what maintenance have you done in the past 6 months?
A failed (end of life) auxiliary battery can create symptoms like you are experiencing. The aux battery is buried behind right rear side trim in the luggage/spare tire area. Use the search feature here and on YouTube. Lots and lots of precious threads and posts on this.
Also replace the main battery while you’re at it. 6 years is the time to replace it. MBs act funny when the battery is less than perfect.

I would replace both batteries, the auxilliary and the main (starting) battery.
