Hello, I think in the forum already have various topics talking about this situation, but I can't seem to find any answers for my problem.
Thanks in advance for any answers and help.
I have a w204 estate (S204) 2009 pre-facelift, and I have the cluster below: This is my cluster. (basic analog version) This is my steering wheel. (4 button version) I would like to know if someone could help me out. I am interested in changing my stock cluster for any of the models of the clusters attached below (I take suggestions as well), doing this do I need to change the steering wheel as well ? Or can I keep my stock steering wheel (as it only has 4 buttons would it work with this type of cluster) ?
I would like to know how difficult would this process be, if it would need any coding as I would be buying used parts or would be like plug and play and that's it.
Thanks in advance for the help guys.
Replacing the instrument cluster, specially for the updated one, is not plug and play. If you have access online, it will not go through since the cluster does not belong to that VIN. But in any case, the SSID and mileage needs to be changed. Also coding needs to be done and finally you will need to write the service data.
If by access online you mean if my car has access online it doesn't, so I think one less problem. About the SSID and the service data which devices would I need or a simple OBD adapter will be enough ?
Thanks a lot for answering and try to help me with this.
