2022 GLS450 Remanufactured Injector
My wife's new 2022 GLS450 tripped a solid "Check Engine" warning at:
1. 320 miles:.
Dealer Service Dept. scanned stored Code P0304 - misfire cylinder #4.
Reset computer, could not duplicate problem and released vehicle
2. 355 miles:
Dealer checked loose connections, added fuel, could not duplicate
the misfire and released the vehicle.
3. 455 & 755 miles:
"Flickering" yellow "Check Engine", rich exhaust and misfire.
Dealer got MB Engineering involved and finally replaced the plug and injector
cylinder #4 with a remanufactured injector.
TOTAL DOWN TIME = 20 days!
My question - why would the dealer replace the injector with a REMANUFACTURED
injector on a brand new vehicle instead of a NEW MB injector?
Is this standard operating procedure or something else?
Thanks.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Because it's cheaper than a new injector. The injector yanked out of your car will get remanufactured and stuck into someone else's car. Think of it as recycling. Maybe after 2 manufacturing and test iterations, they got it done right (lol).
