P219C code W205

Hey everyone, sorry if this is in a wrong thread I am new here. I was just concerned as I have a 2018 C300 with 36k miles that threw out a P219C error code. I have a Maxcare warranty under it, and its at a Mercedes dealer right now. They are currently doing a teardown to determine the cause. They said after doing compression tests that it is likely a cracked piston, but could be an issue with the valves or fuel injectors. I am just worried because even though I do have an extended warranty, if this issue is deemed outside of the powertrain warranty I will owe north of 7000 USD for all these tests, and that doesn't even include repairing the car. Can anyone give me some insight on this issue, as well as your thoughts? I would really appreciate it!

Did you try clearing the code first to see if it was just a glitch? I'm surprised they dove right into tearing the eng apart, but I guess that's more profitable. The pistons are literally the heart of the power train so they would need to crooks not to cover it. Unless you bought your warranty from some lady on the phone who said her records show your cars warranty is about to expire and bla bla bla. I get those at least once a week.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes I did try clearing it but it still showed up. They did diagnostic and compression tests, but couldn’t find the culprit, they said it’s likely cracked pistons but neeeded a teardown to be sure. Thanks for the reply again, this helped settle my nerves a bit.
