Air Filter Advice

I want to replace the air filters in my 2001 E430 and 2001 E320 with a good quality filter. I looked through the manual, but it does not mention how many filters are needed. It looks to me like just one. I read somewhere that NAPA sells filters that appear to just like from the factory.

So I went to NAPA and they said they had order them...

The E320 was $4.00 more and is listed with a different part number than the E430. After looking at the filters (so I could clean out the crap in the boxes) they appear to be the same.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I believe they both use the same filter. Makes me wonder if they are looking up the correct year, or application. The new E320 uses 2 filters, but the 210 chassis uses just one, which If I remember correctly is the same for the 112 and 113 motors.

I originaly bought a NAPA filter for my 2000 E430 and it was to long I then pulled my filter and NAPA cross referanced the MB part # with theres. The filter I needed ended up being the one for a 2001 E55. SO I told them no thanks and went to the MB dealer and got the correct one, cost me 21.00. You can also find the orginal MB part # on the front of your airbox.

Okay, so I got the filters from NAPA. The one for the E320 is the perfect size and has the same numbers as the OEM filter including being made in Germany (look identical).

But, the NAPA filter for the E430 is too long... I compared the OEM E320 and E430 and they are both exactly the same , should have looked in the first place. So I just need to swap the long filter for the E320 filter. Also it only costs $19.00 after AAA discount.
