Diagnostic TEst
I have a 92 benz 300d but before purchasing it I want to take it to a dealer to have them make sure everything is working properly. I called up the Mercedes dealer telling them I need my car checked out and they said they just do a visual check and do not run a test??!?
Dont they need to runing a diagnostic test or some kind of comupter test to make sure all the electrical components are working?
What should I do?
-- Only other place I know is TRIPLE AAA but this is a mercedes!

right
I know I need to make sure everything works properly but if they only do a visula chekc and that costs 100 dollars, is it worth it?
they said the visual check for 100 and anything else would be extra, like for them to check the electrical components, heat, etc.... so I would be spending tons for them to check the car....
Any other options?

A visual check is good, becuase they should check suspension, engine belt, tires, brakes, fluid levels, tranny fluid, a/c temps, coolant, hoses,
I dont have the paper in fornt of me right now so there might be others.
I can realy give you a good idea if you what the car.
