Disabling Foglights on W209

I recently got a Brabus front bumper installed on my 03 CLK500, and it does not have foglights like the stock AMG setup. The installer disconnected the foglight wires, and the car can sense that they are no longer connected because it shows a malfunction alarm if I turn on the headlights. On first pass, the installer didn't seem to know what to do. What is the best work around to prevent this alarm from occuring? It seems like it is either a matter of something like accessing the software and deactivating the foglights all together or fooling the sensor system by installing an appropriately sized resistor where the foglights would normally be... Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

installing an inline resistor maybe the easiest way if you are good with wiring.
