Sprinter Electric Sliding Door Fault

Hello,
I have a 2017 sprinter where the electric sliding door is running at approx half speed. The guides and rollers are all good and the door is free, the door system has logged the following code;
”B0050 emergency run due to exceeding the maximum number of driving cycles”
after disconnecting the battery and clearing the fault, the fault returns as soon as you operate the door and goes back to half speed.
has anyone got any experience with these? I am not sure if the computer has counted the cycles and the motor needs to be replaced, as I have put a used motor in and it has done the same thing and not sure if there is a counter reset that needs to be done with xentry? Or whether the ecu wants to see a brand new motor.
thanks in advance
