m157 precautions.
So i know the m157 has an aura about it being a "time bomb". coming from having a 4.7tt e550. i bought it at 70k had it tuned shortly after (custom in house tune) did all the normal maintaince. would do plugs at 15k think i did coils at 30k intervals. anycase sold the car with 151k zero issues car ran solid, Blackstone did my oil analysis a few times (solely used motul) nothing but great results any time i had them check the oil.
would jumping to a m157 car and keeping the same maintaince mind set keep me problem free? my tuner has owned a 157 e63 knows the issues it has. i probably wouldn't buy one with more then say 75k miles one it. tune it asap.
i dont drag ran etc. its a daily that i just have fun with.
just trying to gauge if it would be a good or terrible idea. i read through some of the threads of people having major issues. i still cant tell if its tune related, plug related or what. my understanding is factory mapping is too lean buy the time one of us buys one and tunes it its too late and time is ticking, so buying a 20k or 40k mile'd 157 car isn't in the budget.
