I can't either. It seems like Mercedes changed their internal software to no longer accept their old passwords. I believe that I can, however, get you to EPC. This file is not showing on your photo even after you have correctly logged in. Let me know if you need the supporting
data chain to replace on your software which is an easy fix. I wish that I could give you the WIS info but....only the EPC.

 

I need WIS for my newly acquired 07 S550. Might as well get a much newer version like this for $20 https://www.ebay.com/itm/383671929971? I also see Xentry with laptop for $300 that includes WIS: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175871207217 Do you need an interface to connect it to the car with that?

 

Go for the $20 solution. If you get the Xentry laptop running something like Windows 7 and not in a VM, you will likely have more problems. You may need to reconfigure the WIS local server occasionally and need to have stuff like the unique identifier for your network card. Running the shop manual on a VM actually makes it a little more stable. Not sure why your stuff got messed up, but maybe there was a software update on your PC or something.

 

Do you know if it can be installed on an external drive? That way I could use it on both my desktop and any laptop.

 

I don't know. If you can install and run VMware on an external drive, then it should work. WIS, in this case, is just an app that runs under VMware.
