I think it needs to be 09/2023 software and the C4 multiplexer. You may be able to go with the C5 or C6, but I have no experience with them. I understand C4 is the most stable. My experience, though, is to use the ethernet cable and not WiFi.

It all depends on what exactly you want to get into. If all you want is diagnostics, actual values, read codes and clear codes you can use a genuine tactrix openport ($180) and use Xentry passthru software. If you want to get into manual coding with vediamo and DTS monaco then I highly recommend you get a high quality C4. It would be a plus if it is a DOIP enabled C4 but good luck finding these. When using C4, C5 and C6 you will need Xentry Openshell. You can easily find everything you need in different forums. Also, you do not need the latest. You can get and install from 2021 and you will be fine.
