Hey folks.
I’ve got my SL63 apart replacing the tensioner and guide pulleys while it’s apart. I bought everything from FCPEuro via their parts diagram and suggested replacement parts.
Interestingly, the guide pulley nearest the tensioner and above the AC compressor is steel. This was not mentioned in the parts from FCPEuro (everything was plastic). My thinking is the steel guide is such because of the AC compressor and its potential load. I’m tempted not to mess with this and put it back. The bearing feels good.
Anyone run into this? 2013 SL63 but guessing this has been run into on other M157/278s.
TIA

Never mind… missed a part number for the steel pulley. Mine was in great shape, bearing tight, etc, so it went back in.
All buttoned back up and the clacking that was coming from the accessory drive is now gone.
