2017 C63 engine noise advice

Hi all

I have recently bought a 2017 w205 c63 and have noticed a tapping noise at idle. It doesn’t get louder when driving i have no eml light on or any other issues from what i can tell. Im in the uk so car is rhd and the noise sounds louder on the passenger side of the car. So is this noise normal or do i have an issue?

Thanks

How many miles on the car and do you know the maintenance history?

The tapping does sound loud, but I do not have your engine. The tapping could be from the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP), which is driven by a camshaft. It is usually at the rear of the engine and on the right side (passenger side on LHD cars). I doubt it would be different on a RHD car. There is a vacuum pump on the opposite side, as well. But I've not heard of it making noise.
