the vacuum pump for the w140's door lock is working, but the doors still aren't locki
it's a 1998 s320 lwb with non-electronic rear seats. when I press the lock or unlock buttons, either inside the car or on the key fob, I can hear the pump working, but the doors aren't locking. I recently had a water leak, and most of the water ended up where the pump is located (under the rear right seat). the pump worked perfectly before, even after the water got into it, and continued to work for about 10 days before it suddendly stopped.
could it still be a vacuum pump issue, even though I can hear it making noise when pressing the buttons? does anyone have a wiring diagram for the w140's door lock vacuum pump? several wires run into the pump, and some were damaged, likely due to the water. I repaired the wires, but now the car is performing a completely different function. instead of locking and unlocking the doors, it's controlling the rear trunk handle latch (when I press the lock button it's releasing and when I press the unlock button it's retracting)
as far as I know, the latch shouldn't work like this, it should release when the trunk opens and retract when the trunk closes. I may have reconnected the wires incorrectly.
