XENTRY PassThru for W203,W208, W209, W163
Is Pass Thru useful for those models in the title? (W203 W209 are 2004, others are '00 & '01)
Not for 'coding', but for reading, clearing, adaptions, actuations and the other functions listed on the tabs when it is opened (watched a lot of (too much) YT)
Can Pass Thru be used if for example an ETC is replaced (as on my '04 W209)?
I read that it became a standard in '04, but am confused if any of it is backwards compatible. Too many conflicting comments in multiple sources.

I have a pass-thru device but have never used it. I understand that it is very limited. I recommend you get a C4 Multiplexer with DoIP before trade tariffs are enacted.

If your question is to me, then yes, I have the C4, which is not only satisfactory, but mandatory for a lot of XENTRY diagnostic functions. They are not $20, but you get what you pay for.
All C4s are Asian clones, so you have to choose carefully. They are more expensive through Amazon, but you have the Amazon "protection" and get it much quicker. Still, if you search you can find vendors with good ratings.
