Mercedes ME in German.....Again

For the third or fourth time since I bought my 2021 GLE 63 the Mercedes Me app log in screens (iPhone and desktop) are in German. I live in Virginia. I don't speak German. When I call Mercedes Me they are of little help, suggesting language choices on the menu that aren't there. Usually, I can get past the login ID and password in German, but now there's a lengthy menu in German that I presume is all about cookies and preferences and no idea how to proceed. Over the past two years I've gotten by login in but never ran into this menu. Help? Many thanks in advance.

If from a website I'd assume you can copy the text? If so, Google translate:

What URL are you using? Sometimes old bookmarked URLs are not fully valid anymore. Also clear your cache and cookies and try https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com

Not a website. It's the Mercedes ME app.

Oh the Mercedes-Benz app. That's odd. The app stays logged in for me on my iPhone. Haven't even seen the login screen in don't know how long. I even got a new phone recently and the logged in session transferred to the new phone. Your mentioning of desktop got me confused as there's no desktop app. Only iOS and Android.

They recently changed the Mercedes me ID login process and it has caused some issues, but I thought it was fixed. We were having login issues with the AMG Private Lounge for a while. It uses the same Mercedes me ID, but it got resolved. I am fluent in German, though, so if I did get this privacy screen last time I logged in, I probably wouldn't even remember.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app? The language in iOS is controlled at the system level and apps are supposed to use the first one you have in your region settings. However I have run into issues where apps get confused. Since I'm bilingual, I have both English and German on my phone and even though English is the primary language, some menus show in German. Seems to be a bug in iOS. But I'm assuming you only have one language configured on your phone.

Thanks SuperSwiss - will try reinstalling. Yeah, for a long time, I logged into the app just with facial recognition, but after updates, I had to log in with ID and password, and that's when it reverted to German. When I mentioned desktop, I tried to log into https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com/pas...dashboard.html. The first screen is English, the second one is German.

Yeah, there's either something borked with your account or you need to clear your cache/cookies on all your devices. I never need to login in, either on the desktop going to the link you posted or the app on my iPhone. It stays logged in between the sessions. As said, the Mercedes me ID is also used by the AMG Private Lounge which I visit regularly. I also just logged out and logged back in to see if at any point I get a German page, but it's all in English. I enter the Email on the first page, then the password on the second page and I'm in. At no point does anything in German ever come up.

So, hopefully uninstalling the app, which should delete all its data including the cache, and clearing your web browser cache and cookies on your desktop clears out what's causing this for you. Otherwise, if it's something with your account then unfortunately you are back to having to deal with Support.

Also, perhaps try a different browser and another device. FWIW, I'm on Windows 10 using Chrome. What browser and desktop OS are you using? Also which version of iOS are you on? I'm on 18.3 on an iPhone 16 Pro with the latest version of the Mercedes-Benz app. I've had the app since 2019 when it first came out and went through every upgrade, rebrand and name change since.
