2004 C32 AMG failed idler pulley #4 and damage to mating part

Damaged boss at lower right side of picture
Damaged boss from idler pulley #4 filing at lower right side of picture. Can someone show me what the timing cover part number 112-010-08-33 should look like so I can figure out a repair for mine and avoid paying over $1000 for a new timing cover. You can email pics directly to rj23418@gmail.com Thanks.

Tim, thanks for the feedback. That would be great if it is that as I am sure it is a lot cheaper than the timing cover. Unfortunately the Mercedes dealership said it was the timing cover. Guess I could try another dealership and have them check too. I am doubting it is the water pump though as that is not the #4 pulley which is referred to as an idler pulley. I wish I could find an exploded view of the engine to help identify the part but that does not seem to exist at least on the Internet that is. Appreciate my light you can shed on the subject, Guy.

I dont have that engine so just going off photos im finding.

Looking at a used engine and if im looking at the same pulley you are talking about it looks like its mounted to the water pump part# 1122010901. When I look at photos of that water pump im seeing a nub that seems to match your photo.

Unless im totally crazy?

Tim, no I don’t think you are crazy at all. I printed out the picture you posted and aligned it with the picture I had taken of my engine and I think you are right. Your picture has given me a good idea of how tall the boss is and I am confident I can fix it. I am going to Google the part number you had just to see how much that part is. You have been a big help. Thank you, Guy.

Rotating your photo to how it should look I marked where the water pump part# should be, if its an original MB water pump. I tried to zoom in but couldnt tell.

Heres a link to the 2004 C32 repair manual though I couldnt find anything specifically on that idler pulley. I was looking under drive belt and under water pump: https://charm.li/Mercedes%20Benz/200...d%20Diagnosis/

Heres a link to the parts diagrams i was looking thru. There are two C32's listed. Found the diagrams under Engines>cooling: https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/mercedes/1/203/
