Xentry install help

Help with Xentry install.

I am making myself a backup laptop to install all my Mercedes software on.

I've gotten pretty much everything installed and working except Xentry and it's SDConnect software I cannot figure out.
It should install with my copy of 09.2025 Xentry but ott doesn't do I cannot get my VCI to work on that laptop.

Hoping someone has some guidance for me.

Xentry is finicky. The problem is almost always the VCI drivers. Install them first, before the software. Run everything as Administrator. If it still fails, you need the correct activation patch for your specific software version.

Xentry

Where did you get the Xentry software. I have CEL and would love to be able to not have to go to MB and be held at their mercy.

You can get it online installed for 100$ or so. Butt you also need to dedicate your laptop to only be for this purpose because windows virus protection has to be turned off. So buying a cheap Lenovo Thinkpad or something similar is there way to go there. Then you need a device to hook the laptop to the car that sells for 400$ or so.

It's a investment but if you plan on working on a Benz it's almost a necessity.

If you're still interested pm me cuz I dunno if I can post links like that in the thread.

The other option is a launch Mercedes specific code scanner. Not as good as the laptop softwares but pretty good for under 200$

Tom
If you are simply looking for a scan tool to scan and clear DTCs, and do some minor config changes, then look to the LAUNCH X431 Creader Elite 2.0 BENZ, $139 from KingBolenTool.com. If you want a stable XENTRY (SDS) setup that is the gold standard, I hear BenzNinja is the guy to go to.
