2000 CLK 430 Transmission
What a way to start the hoidays. My transmission is stuck in first gear, and my mechanic just told me I need a new one. Has anyone had this problem. Also, could this have happend because when I was on the freeway going about 85, my father hit my stick and dropped my gear into 1st. HHhmmmm

Ouch!!
I doubt the transmission logic would allow it to shift from 5th to 1st gear at 85 mph.Why did they say you need a new transmission?

My mechanic just told me that the second and third selinoids are sticking, and the clutch smells burned? I don't think there anything wrong with the clutch? Any advice other than paying $3K for a new transmission.

Sounds like you need to find a technician rather than a mechanic.
