clk transmission problems

I have a 1998 clk 320 with 50k miles.While driving on highway it stayed in 4th until I turned it off and on,did it a couple more times until it stayed in 2nd for good.Went to dealer who says I need new tranny.Fault codes are p0748,7,103,116 and 135.Also have engine codes p0170 and p0173 as well as seat code b1022. Drivers seat control failed 6 months ago, the 3 fuses are good.Any help appreciated ,not inpressed with with mercedes quality.Bought car when it had 15k passed on extended warrenty.Have print out.

I am an 03 CLK500 and had the tranny replaced due to grinding noises while driving. Grinding noise happened in 2nd and 4th gear. But mine was covered under warrenty. SOrry to hear your issues man. GOod luck!

if you are near the houston area or can ship the car here, I know a mercedes tranny specialist that can help you. He is a authorized mercedes tech also at the dealershop and works on the trannys on weekends.

My '00 430 suffered from the same problem, got stuck in 2nd gear, and drivers side seat controls failed. MB dealer concluded that it was a valve body problem, and the left side computer chip malfunction.
