I had service B done on my E55, but the place doesn't know how to reset the computer. I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in. As I stated in another post I live 45 minutes from the dealer. Anyone know how to reset it?

I finally found it in the manual after 2 weeks... wasn't looking hard enough. Anyway, thanks a lot. It's too bad my Benz dealer wanted to charge me ($60) to look at it and reset it for me rather then just telling me to look in the manual.

 

If the shop that did your inspection/service did not know a very basic thing like the reset what else did they not know?? Inspection of various items are very important with the A and B services. How can they detirmine if the items are good/bad within/out of limits if they do not know what they are looking at!!

 

like what "items" that are peculiar to this car? Only the reminder reset it proprietary (but no secret).

 

For one, the computer is read out with the Star diagnostic computer and even items that may in fact not trigger a CEL will show up either out or close to being out of tolerance.
