Adding XENON lights?
Hey everyone, I am new to the site, just bought my firs Benz. I recently got a '97 E420 sport, and It has the halogen headlights. I would like to upgrade to h i d's. Anyone know if I can just swap out mine for some factory units? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Your year should be pretty cut n dried in terms of swapping out OEM HID.
I believe there is one for pre-2000 FS on this board, as well as Benzworld
right now for about $600. It will have regular fluted lens.
You can spend severla hundred dollars more and take a clear lens, Taiwan
manuf unit and retrofit an HID but it requires some reading and intermediate
skill. If you can change your own oil, install lit rocker panel inserts, or wire
your own stereo, it should be a piece of cake.
Do a search for username zam2000 and you'll see the handiwork of this
HID guy. I'm in the middle of such a project for my 1999 E320 right now.
Need to get off my butt and finish it. Here us the halogen clear lens
manuf by Taiwan's Depo (approx $400). It's all apart in the garage right now
getting an HID fitting inside.

Thanks for the advice. I will let ya know what happens. Perhaps we'll run into each other someday, I'm in Aberdeen, getting ready to move back to Bellevue in the near future.

Hi, I remember getting sewing machine leg when I was doing my flight training and selected Hoquium airport. Man, that thing is right on the water and it freaked me out. See you when you get to the city.
