Plastic cover on instruments

Can anyone tell me how to remove the instrument cluster plastic front cover? Do I have to remove the cluster? THANKS in advance

Year and Model?

In most of the 70-90 models, the instrument cluster(s) were attached by some screws to a plastic shell that had the clear window for the dash. The windows were spot glued onto the shell and it can be removed, at some risk, by carefully prying up the welds along the black stripped edge.
