Selling 1986 560 SEC
Color is Blau-Schwartz with palomino leather.
Anti-lock brakes, driver air bag. 4-wheel disk brakes.
This is a big, heavy, solid German battle cruiser.
139,000 miles
A daily driver – everything works except the driver’s side automatic headrest.
The hydraulic rear suspension has been converted to conventional springs/shocks
H&R sport lowering springs front and rear.
AMG Type I Aero 17” wheels. These wheels are very rare.
AMG rear deck spoiler
European headlights w/ city lights. Clear corners
New guide rods, new upper control arms, new front brake rotors, new steering damper.
New engine gaskets, new injectors and seals, new plugs, wires, distributor, coil.
Always has had Mobil 1 fluids and grease. Oil and filters every 4,000 miles.
Tuned for Premium octane fuel. I can de-tune it for regular if you really want to.
Condition: Typical. It is not a show car. It’s a daily driver - The paint shows its age, as does the leather and headliner, etc. The trunk lid has a noticeable repaired dent on the right side. A spare trunk lid comes with the car. A few drops of oil on the floor overnight, I haven’t found from where, but it is not serious, so I have just let it go. Still very presentable and no rust. A very handsome automobile.
Very fun to drive. Power to spare. You can cruise in comfort all day at 130 MPH (not recommended).
Fuel Mileage:
With premium gas at $3.50, expect operating fuel costs about 25¢ - 29¢ per mile.
What it needs:
Needs new tires. Current tires (Falken ZE512s – 245/45ZR17) are out of balance. I like these tires, but they are only good for about 12,000 miles. Also needs front end alignment, but I was going to wait until I got new tires. Needs a new antenna. Someday it will need a new Bendix on the starter – it will occasionally not engage; not a big problem as it only happens occasionally, and it always engages the second time.
For Sale for $4,250. Less than 5% of its 1986 MSRP!

I just took delivery of my Smart car, and my wife is demanding that the 560 go away.
For $2,000, you can buy this for the wheels and throw the car away, and still be ahead.

Edmunds, KBB, NADA, etc are pretty much useless for older Benzes. Their conditions vary a lot, hence the values also have a huge range
