1987 420 SEL white on grey, beautiful garaged $2,499
I'm posting my 1987 white 420 SEL with 165,003 miles on it because I have decided to get a diesel W124 instead.
The good:
1.) gets about 23MPG highway on any grade fuel but I always use premium for longevity and fuel system sake.
2.) the body is in very good shape, there is a small dent on the driver side behind the wheel, and there are small rust bubbles that have been killed and painted. not are hardly visible from any distance over 1 foot
3.)runs and drives beautifully
4.)looks like a million bucks!
5.)black grille subtracts 5-6 years from the already modern looking car
6.)all power windows work
7.)sun roof and flip up functions all work well
8.)original Becker Mexico Grand Prix radio installed and works great
9.)power antenna not bent or broken
10.)original tool kit and spare
11.)interior is spotless
12.)paint still shines like new
13.)under body is rust free
14.)garaged for 10 years with maintenance done
15.)no play in steering box
16.)vacuum locks still work like new
17.)engine and trans are great! idles smooth as butter and no slippage or odd things from the well maintained trans
18.) AC still blows Ice cold, very hot heat
19.) climate control all works as it should
20.) air bag equipped
the bad:
1.)engine uses about 1 quart of 10w30 per 400 miles in the city and about 1 quart per 1,000 miles on the highway but I'm told this is because of a bad vacuum actuator not because of engine damage
2.) drivers power seat does not work due to a bad switch in door
3.) power pass. mirror is not working due to a bad switch
4.) there is a crack in the dash, very common problem for these cars. $110 fix at most
5.) missing tow hook cover
I have disclosed everything that I know about this car in the bad, but there are far more goods that I have forgotten about, it is a gorgeous car and I would personally drive it anywhere gladly.
the car will have the factory 15" alloy wheels on it for the above asking price, but the late model R129 wheels that are in the picture can be left on for additional money
Thats it, please ask questions and Ill add information in the good section as I start to remember it
Thanks for looking!

Just what I am looking for - where are you located ?
I looked all through your post and couldn't find where you are located. Although I live in Washington DC, I work in Philly and NYC, staying in Philly mostly.
Hopefully you are "close" to one of those areas.
Thanks,
dcboater
