How about you let the man sell his car?? I don't think he's concerned about your retail numbers
You need to stop flaming everybodys threads. That's what you seem to be doing a lot of on here. People look for help from fellow members, not negative criticism

how about i help people set realistic expectations.
and you should be concerned about retail numbers because this is the number that concerns the non-pro and besides... if i start quoting you wholesale numbers you will think that those cars are offered for sale without engines.

also adjusting somebody's expectations with good intentions is not a bad thing.
i guess it comes down to if you think you can sell something for X dollars and it turns out that you sell it for far less- do you want to be content or you want to feel that you got "special treatment" and got ripped off? i myself would always prefer to be content despite of the loss i take.

I guess the problem in today's market is that people who need to get rid of their beloved vehicles are having a tough time stomaching that the bottom is falling out of the market.
The fact the OP has been trying for 3 months, with countless bumps, to sell a nice but rather un-remarkable E Class to a forum of MB fanatics suggests one thing. The price is too high.

price
06 E 320 with 32k miles, navi, loaded going for 22k at a dealer.
I am in the market for one. with relatively low miles.
OP, no offense, but relisting with lower price at other sites might help.

i am glad alx contributes & provides some dose of reality in today's used car market.. yea it's tough to swallow your pride when your MB loses 50% of value in 2 yrs.. but that's reality ppl..
alx, what is current wholesale pricing for 2006 audi A4 2.0T quattro, with 43000 miles?

however, once the luxury vehicle is in "used status" it is not sought after by the same group of people, but rather the enthusiasts which usually finance. unfortunately the consumer credit market right now is very tight and those cars are in a limbo.... and their pricing goes down by the week. i should know.
the disconnect currently is because in the last 1 year those prices have plummeted at the auctions (dealers are tight on cash) and you have a lot of consumers and dealers stuck seriously upside-down on what they own. this will play out, but i see quite a few dealers already hurting (hence the auction prices drop), not to mention horrified consumers realizing that their cars are worth 25-33% less than what they thought. it is a self-(un)sufficient process that suppresses the market (much like the realestate one).
regarding you a4 questions- i assume sedan, not wagon. audi has been very aggressively leasing those out and now they are starting to come back at the auctions in numbers. there is plenty of supply, so they are very cheap. i would say the car you described is a $14.5k wholesale (assuming average condition- most cars fall in that category) and can be had for $17.0 retail without being too creative.
