actually i have been a member for some time
It is funny how all the opinions come out when someone has a car for sale....yet when they look for one they ask here first and then want to know if the cars are worth buying......the board is a gateway to good deals and discussions.....opinions are like *******s we all have one----
I have a feeling that a certain member on here has had a few bad experiences with buying a car I.E. "got ripped off"------
Sad if this is fact but I am a diehard AMG fanatic...so I highly doubt I can buy yet sell or advise someone to buy a car for the wrong intentions....lol....
1. yes I am a dealer (I should be shot)
2. I own a dealer license solely for buying cars mostly for myself....
3. I own a large construction co. in South Florida so I don't need to make a killing on selling a car I buy out of an auction...which makes me a a whole lot less greedy......FACT IS I am a enthusiast and I am not going to rip off anybody from this board for my purpose of making a huge profit
4. IMPORTANT: I am not an idiot... I wouldnt buy a car that was wrecked or has been hit or has issues....why? Because I don't drive trash...
5. People on here can either have me help them buy a car or buy a car that I have decided to sell....the choice is theirs and you my friend....as George Carlin once said "just turn the ****ing dial if you don't like the station"
LOL.......well I have said my peace.....

Warranty: plenty left for the year---
I can get a DC warranty for $2500 ... 100k and 7 years from in-service date....Daimler Chrysler warranty... it is superior to the CPO.... many members have it and it is the best warranty you can own for this car......PERIOD....
Also it is rated very high at many BENZ DEALERS......They have no issues with it....

You must have a lot of some proportion with someone answering the phone and atleast some inventory to obtain your dealer's license. It isn't some novelty that is bought for a certain amount of $.

It is actually quite expensive....
Insurance and a bond along with the most important .....a place large enough to be able to store cars... I have a large facility where I have 2 Bays/offices and one is for the Car license and the other my construction co.........Rent alone is more then a mortgage on a $1.5 million home......
so it aint cheap....Lol

requirements vary from state to state...
but as mentioned above, you need a place that has XX parking spots and facilities to repair cars and do warranty work (in MA every sold car has 1 month or XXXX miles implicit warranty), an office, dealers plate ($$), bond, etc.
it can get expensive. also auction bidding is not for the faint of heart... thats for sure.

TRUE Alex... the auctions circus worthy...
I see a lot of buyers buying no option cars and cars with bad color combos........they look at the book value and then bid from there.....in the real world...condition,color combo and options are key to buying a car...every car I buy for myself has to have as many options as possible and in the right color........miles are a factor but if the car is cherry then the gap tightens on the price point.....
I originally tried to work with another dealer for my cars but the fact is when you have to drop $50-100k in someone else's account to buy the car from the auction....obviously there was no floor plan....then it presents a risk not worth taking....unless you like to give money out for free with no strings attached.....lol

yes. the $50k+ market is very very fickle.
colors/options/condition/phase of the moon are very very important. much more than if you are buying say camrys by the truckload.
it takes good understanding of the current market conditions (what is hot/what is not) and a large dose of chance to profit from those cars. oh, and those conditions do change via untold and unseen mechanisms which makes the proposition even more .. fickle
for example i would not touch with a 10-foot pole a cl65 amg car at any of the auctions because i am a firm believer that by the time i buy the thing i will be already owning it out of the money. however, i would buy 996/997 p-cars all day long and do well with those.
and yes- auctions are circus-worthy by all means. i see every day "smart" dealers from large chains getting units for too much money. we are in interesting times. one look at the autotrader prices and comparing them to manheim/adesa prices and you realize that something is very very wrong and lots of dealers are in deep trouble with their used inventory.
btw, your asking price for your car is very fair methinks. but it is already out of the money. call me... cautious.

Your right...their inventory is mind boggling...
Chain dealers are running cars through just to get them off the lot and get the loans paid back....really nice units ...that if they werent greedy would sell on the lots quick...now they are getting hit at auction
I agree I am out of the money.....But it wasnt my intention.......p-cars are great no doubt ...a buyer is almost waiting on the corner for a nice one ...and they have gotten to be so price worthy lately at the auctions....it is hard to pass any of them up....
What is your take on the Bentley's? At the rate they are dropping I think we will see a lot of potential in them-- the demand is certainly there

There were a few ...one OVE for that amount-sold
Mine was that amount before shipping and fees and PSI....an average of about 2-3 Cl65's show up in auction a month....Manheim anyway...
They are quite rare .....
As of right now there are less then 10 black CL65's in the country for sale---less then 20 all combined...
Compared to Bentley's 2005 GT...there are over 150 for sale now....

i dont have a good feel on those.
poser cars with very very expensive upkeep. it is my impression that posers tend to buy "the latest and greatest" and thus prefer those cars new.
on the other hand a true car enthusiast will not be interested in those as they are unrewarding to drive.
the fake poser will not have the money for the upkeep so.. full circle.
in short - not liking them much.
p-cars and f-cars is where the money are right now methinks.

After checking the current listings...
There are quite a lot of Bentley's for sale......price will only be a matter of fact soon enough.....For a GT I think it will be a great used car buy in the $50's....but as for warranty and upkeep....yeah forget about it...you cant get a warranty and they are $$$ to keep around.....and true most people who can afford one will buy it new.....just pity on those who pay a pretty penny for one used and get stuck fixing it

$2500 is a good price for a 7/100, especially for a 65
i probed my MB dealer very extensively and purchased a DC warranty for my 55 as it is the BEST that the sell.. (i would not own a late model MB without a service contract )
i was less worried about the porsche twin turbo that i had but even so, i purchased an EasyCare product that the owner of my local porsche dealer highly recommended. plus, i know that EasyCare rebates any unused portion.
..

No longer car shopping...
r-munk - Sorry for the earlier post. Was getting this forum mixed up with another that requires sellers to place ads ONLY in the classified sections. I've personally never had any problems buying or selling cars here or elsewhere. Sounds like you've got a nice vehicle coming in. Hope you find it a good home.

Would anyone else feel weird buying a car from someone with the word "retarded" in his SN?
Miles seem awefully high for this car. No wonder its going cheap.....unfortunately not cheap enough. Its times like this I sometimes wish I needed to buy an AMG. So many good deals out there.
I feel this car could be had for cheaper.
