'83 300 D Original family owner
My parents took delivery of this car on at Sindelfingen May 16, 1983. I purchased it from them in Oct. of '04. It was my daily driver until last December, when I got a w124.
Paint code 940, Marine blue with Upholstery 132 – MB tex blue. I have all records from delivery to the present. Current mileage is 168,080. VIN WDBAB33A9DB031678
Mechanically
Car runs and drives as it should. No smoke. Never had to add oil between changes. Always starting easily, the car. The last larger maintenance items are as follows:
Last December, I installed 2 or 3 new glow plugs.
On 2-21-08 new injectors and primer pump installed at 162,176.
On 3-26-07 new brake master cylinder installed at 155,531.
On 2-13-07 Four new bilsteins were installed at 154,480.
The Goodyear tires, were purchased in April of '07 have 12,500 miles on them, with approximately 90% tread life remaining.
Cosmetically:
No rust/accidents/fires/ or floods.
Mom didn't want a sunroof, so this is one of a few 123's without one. In addition, the car has always been garaged, so the uncracked blue dash and console wood are in excellent shape. MB tex seats look as new, except for a some wear on the driver's seat. Car has never been smoked in.
The working original Becker europa radio/cassette is still intact.
The car is basically stock except for three things: I've upgraded the headlights to Hella H4's e code. Also, I added and additional brake light to each side to provide 4 lights vs. the standard 2. Car also has a Diesel Giant block heater installed.
Issues:
Scratch on Fender and door - see pics.
Door locks currently disabled due to vacuum leak.
Center vents work sporadically.
Tach is also works when it so desires.
A/C needs a recharge – yeah I know.
Door clip on passenger door needs replacement.
Asking $5000.
Vehicle is located in Central Louisiana.
