FS: 1975 450 SL, 84k miles, $9,000 obo

The car is a 1975 (Oct. 74 build) Mercedes Benz 450 SL convertible with hardtop. It is white with red leather interior, has 84,762 original miles, and is in fantastic shape. It runs, drives, stops, etc just like it should. It has just received some work including replacing the Manifold Pressure sensor, and the front brake hoses, and is now ready to go. Air blows very cold, but the tach doesn't work. The mechanic that did the work thought the car was in very good condition and other than the tach, there is nothing wrong with it that he or I could find.
He is asking $9,000obo for it due to $2,000 in recent work being done to it making it essentially ready to just own , drive, etc without much chance of any issues since it has been extensively gone thru.
Car is located in Watertown, SD, but I would be happy to assist with shipping, and can even arrange to deliver within a reasonable area, possibly up to 3-400 miles away for a VERY reasonable amount.

1975 Benz 300c Engine/Parts swap
I am possibly going to purchase a 75 300c from someone, but I want to know if I can do an engine swap for a newer engine from a Mercedes or an American car and also do a swap of newer car seats. I love the look of the 75 Mercedes, but I want to be able to get better gas mileage and have more comfortable seats.
