1995 E420 with ASR & heated orthopedic seats
This car is Pearl Black Metallic (paint code 199) with black leather interior. I bought it in California in early 2009, and I'm selling it because we purchased a newer Mercedes. The odometer currently reads approx 178kmi. The paint is fair, there are spots on the roof where the clearcoat is starting to degrade (see photos). The car looks a little better in the pictures than it does in person... there are a number of small chips in the paint from the infamous Idaho "seal coat", but there are no major dents or damage. Clean title, clean AutoCheck report (link below), non-smoker.
The interior is very good other than a crack in the driver's seat leather (under the sheepskin cover), and mechanically the car is excellent. Everything works, including the power windows, power locks, power seats, electric sunroof, HVAC system, outside temperature display, gauges, factory Bose 10-speaker stereo system, anti-lock brakes, traction control, heated seats, and cruise control. The car has 3M ColorStable™ window tint all around which keeps the car noticeably cooler in summertime. The AC works and is ice cold in summer, all the vacuum pods which control the dash vent airflow have been tested and are working correctly. Typical measured fuel economy from the 275hp 4.2L V8 engine is around 18-20mpg in town, and 24-25mpg on a long freeway trip, which is very close to the EPA economy ratings of 18 city / 24 highway.
Here is a list of the major service/maintenance done in the last 2,000 miles (approx):
This car had an MSRP of about $55k when new (including luxury tax, but NOT including optional equipment), and my car has all options available at that time with the exception of the factory cellular phone. Optional equipment on this car is as follows:
Click here to download the service records (PDF file).
Click here to download the AutoCheck report (PDF file).
Click here to download the the recent engine oil analysis (PDF file) from the last fill of Mobil-1.
Click here to download a Road & Track comparison test report on the 1995 E420 (10MB PDF file).
Click here to view additional photos online, or click here to download a Zip file with all 65 high-res images (8MB total).
Asking $4950, cash only please, no trades.
No lowballers, if you want to spend $3k on a car, please look elsewhere. Most other 400E/E420's do not have traction control or heated seats, these are rare & desireable options. Please keep that in mind when comparing to similar models for sale at lower prices.
If you have any questions, please contact me via email - thank you!

MBWorld Fanatic!
I canvouch for this seller. He is a W124 expert.
I have seen two of his other cars, in person.
This car will be everything he says it is. The best VALUE on the Internet.
He is a senior moderator and technical advisor on a prominent W124 M119 forum.

Sort of. I have a pending sale that I expect to be completed next week, but until I trade the title for cash, it's not a done deal. I'll update the thread after the car is sold. In the meantime, if you have any questions, drop me a line...
