2003 E55 AMG
I'm wanting to sell my 2003 E55 by mid-January as I will be starting a fun car project then and will need the extra room.
Basics:
Year: 2003
Color: Blue (platinum blue I believe is the actual code)
Mileage: 129k
$14k
General:
The car is a highway commuter for me so that's the reason for the higher mileage, but with that said the car drives amazing and has no issues mechanically. In fact, the only issues if you would call it that are minor aesthetics which I will list:
1) The rubber seal that goes in between the driver side view mirror and the pillar is old and cracked (very common I've found out).
2) The front bumper has a small 2" crack on the bottom side of it from the wonderful parking stops found in most shopping centers.
3) The "AMG" badge that belongs on the front seat backs is missing.
That's it for any issues, the rest of the car has been maintained very well and I will give a synopsis of the maintenance and mechanical shape of the car.
Mechanically, the car is amazing. I have completed every single required maintenance and there is no new maintenance required until 180k when new fuel pumps will be needed and 200k with sparkplugs (I'm not sure on the interval for cabin filters but they were recently replaced). The oil gets changed every 6-7k miles and looks great every time I change it. Here is a list of all of the major maintenance items that I have addressed with their approximate mileage at time of completion:
1) Spark plugs at 90k
2) Cabin ilter at 110k
3) Front passenger balljoint at 90k
4) Front Driver balljoint at 128k
5) New front battery at 125k
6) Brand new factory display (spedo etc.) at 118k
7) Diff serviced for whining at 120k
8) Complete new fuel system minus gas tank @ 120k
9) Brand new oem headers (cracked) @ 120k
10)Brand new oem rotors and pads (fr/Bk) at 115k
11)New Michelin Pilot Super Sports at 120k
12)Wheels refinished with no curb rash at 120k
13)Rear main seal inspected at 125k
14) New power steering reservoir at 125k
15) New TPS at 115k
16) New supercharger belt at 115k
17) New intercooler pump at 115k
As you can see, the maintenance was kept up very well and anytime something came up it was fixed. Two things that I know people ask about when purchasing an E55 are the rear main seal and airmatic. I had the rear main seal inspected about 5k miles ago and 7k miles ago to see how it was doing and while it is seeping very very lightly, my mechanic said that it is so minor that he wouldn't recommend replacing it at all. The airmatic is in great shape with no issues or symptoms of failure. The car stays at the correct ride height when parked for long periods and while I'm not sure, the front struts look to be new, possibly from the previous owner but I can't confirm this.
The car has very light modifications to include the following:
1)EC 172mm pulley and tune
2)SL55 AMG staggered wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires
The card drives very strong and the wheels/tires are in great shape with zero curb rash or bends. I also have all of the stock parts.
I'm located in Tustin, CA and I will attach a few pictures of the car but take note that they are with an old set of wheels/tires.

As for the price, I was offered $13,500 by Carmax so I'm going to use that as a backup come January but I would like to get $14k privately.

I am interested.
Has the transmission ever been serviced?
To confirm - the both fuel pumps and sender were replaced at 120k - correct?
Do you know the Brand of the radiator? (there were 2 for this year)
How long have you owned the car (how many miles)?
Navigation?
How long have you had the Pulley and Tune?
Do you have receipts for the repairs? Where they done at the dealership?
Thanks!

The LS460 is a great commuter but I miss the Torque.
This could be a good deal if it's a dealership maintained car like my old- just want to be sure that the intricate repairs were done by a MBZ dealership that I can verify the work from. Will also do a Transmission fluid test to check condition of Torque Converter & Contamination of radiator fluid on 03's.

Jason,
I have owned the car for 3 years and I have all of the maintenance records for the above repairs plus many other small things like oil changes, tires, light bulbs, etc. The car has been serviced by elite motors and coastline imports, both of which have master certified Mercedes technicians. I have not had the transmission flushed and can not comment on the previous owner. The car has also been in California its whole life. Correct, both senders, pumps, and the crossover line were replaced. Not sure on the brand of the radiator but if theres an easy way to check i can accomodate that request and find out. The EC upgrades have been in place for about 5k miles. No navigation.
