The time has come to put my beloved 2005 SL 65 AMG hardtop convertible roadster up for sale.
I’m moving on to other projects and moving for my next level of training, which means doing some downsizing.
Someone will be picking up a fantastic car I’ve invested a great deal of time and money into for a smoking deal – Literally stealing this car :-(





The SL65 is absolutely gorgeous. Black exterior/Charcoal interior. 49,8XX miles.
Importantly: Comes with a full transferable warranty with coverage through 8/2013/100k miles (Platinum coverage, everything included, $100 deductible). Original Warranty Value $7000!

Car does have a buyback/lemon title, returned to dealer under loose California lemon laws.
I have full service records of the car for its whole history, with no major incidents. (Carfax and Service Records provided for potential buyers). Has been flawless during my ownership (Purchased in 2010 at 38,000 miles). Many locally know the car well and can offer input as needed for out of state buyers. All current service is done by big name shop – Motorwerks Houston.

Maintenance
Brand new front rotors with Fresh set of Low Dust Akebono pads x4 (Huge ticket item on SL65, check before you buy. $1000-1200 per rotor cost alone).
Engine mounts replaced (thank you warranty, also big ticket items due to labor).
Recent service B completed (all service records available).
Brand new Coil packs x2 (~1000 a piece, these will fail if original after any ECU tune. Mine are now brand new and good to go).
New intercooler pump (known to go out on SL/CL, no warning light just reductions in horse power - had replaced w ECU tune).
ABC system recently inspected - in 100% working order (another potential pricey issue to troubleshoot and fix).
90%+ rear tires – Pirelli P-Zeros in 305/25/20.
BEWARE WITH OTHER SL65s – many will sell the car at the time they face a slow ABC leak, worn rotors, low tires, motor mount replacement, etc. This car has been maintained to be my daily driver and the decision to sell has not been promted by looming costs!

Aesthetic Flaws (Pics by request)
Hairline crack in driver’s side tail light, does not leak, hard to see unless close
Small scratch or scuff on passenger rear bumper ~1 inch (Haven’t had George/detail master work his magic on it yet to see if it is superficial/will go away)

FYI - to add - the lemon title return issue wasin 2006 for 3 consecutive repairs on the same issue (which in CA will permit a lemon return). This was 7 years ago, with no further issues since (I've owned last 2+).

Hoping to see her go to a good/enthusiast new home.

I can vouch for the car and the seller. I got to go for a nice ride in it. That TT V-12 is a modern engineering marvel and effortlessly propels the car down the road and it sounds amazing doing it. Especially with the top down. The ABC suspension is incredible in that this particular car with the 20's and rubber-band tires rides smoother than my E-class on 18's around Houston's Baghdad-esque roads. It's extremely clean inside and out. I would not hesitate to buy this car and if I had the skrilla laying around, I would do so.

I hate to see it go as I know how much Adam loves it, but sometimes life takes prioritizing. I know this will pay off for him in the long run.
