Newbie ? on a MB purchase
we are in the market and planning on buying a MB
The choices we've narrowed down are between R350 or a GL450
About us:
Me & wife + one Kid & probably one more in the near future...
My friend has a R350, drove his and I liked it,
I'm still not sure, should I go for the Van/wagon like look or a proper SUV look as a GL
My wife will be the one who will be driving the MB predominantly with M-F from home to office (10miles each way)
Should I go for a GL450 used around 2007 which I see all the time for around 23k or should I go for a R350 2011 model that goes for around 30k?
Which is more economical on the longer run, I mean the maintenance part

To the O.P.
Yesterday I was looking at a R 350
in a parking lot when the owner came out -
He said it was a 2011 and that it had been
trouble free only having the regular dealer
service performed -
He then said that he has taken the family
in the R 350 cross country to N.Y. and back -
Twice -
And no problems what so ever -
And his wife loves it -

Get a wagon. AMG wagon if possible. Wife and kids absolutely love it. I do too, but I bike to work, so I don't drive it too often. The 3rd row seats come in handy and fold away completely when not used.
