1983 Mercedes-Benz 280GE (Dealer)
We've started a small vehicle importation company focused on bringing classic cars and trucks back from Spain. It's a fun project that lets us (Bill & Paul) see, touch, and drive some neat classic cars and trucks we might not otherwise have the opportunity to. We're a two man operation, with Paul based in Javea, Spain, and the other (me) here in Virginia. Our focus is to shed light on the otherwise murky process of bringing vehicles back from overseas and bring some honestly and transparency to the process. To that end, Paul works hard to document the process of finding the vehicle, capturing a story and photos on the trucks. We bring some transparency to bare by selling our trucks through a dealer. This truck is being offered by Japanese Classics, LLC in Richmond VA where it comes with a clear VA Title.
Our little company is called Valencia Classic Vehicles. Our website is here:

We recently brought back a Mercedes from Spain, and are reaching into a couple of the marque-specific forums to advertise it. It was highlighted by Bring a Trailer a few weeks back, before it actually hit the port. It's now at the dealer and ready to go.
This truck is a 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280GE. It is currently registered and inspected, ready for sale at the dealership in Richmond, VA. We invested a good amount of time fixing any rust, and repainting the entire body before export, as well as having the motor gone through (more below). This truck was on BaT about a month ago; a buyer put down a deposit, and only yesterday decided he wasn't interested. So, it's back up for sale.

Paul drove this over 1,000 KM around Spain before getting it back to the shop, in what was the ultimate shake-down cruise we've had so far. More about that here:

From Caceres, Spain. 119,000 miles. Fresh "weissengelb" ("wheat yellow") paintwork over black and gray plaid cloth and black vinyl interior. Alloys. 2.8L DOHC inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine and 4-speed manual transmission. Locking front and rear differentials. No rust. Mechanically excellent with freshly rebuilt fuel distributor, new injectors, exhaust, cold start sensor, and more. Cruises easily at 110kp/h with plenty more in reserve. No smoke, idles smoothly and accelerates very well. No leaks. Trailer hitch with electrics (EU specification). Nearly new BFGoodrich All-Terrains. Interior original. An honest, rust free, low mileage G-wagen that has fresh paint and good upholstery.
Body / Interior: Original interior, plaid upholstery is in good shape. We didn't recover anything, and while it shows some signs of being 30+ years old, it looks great.
Drivetrain: Described by my local Mercedes mechanic as the "Singer Sewing Machine" engine due to it's methodical tick, the motor pulls strong and will comfortably do 65-70 on the highway. Injector pump was fully rebuilt, and the motor has fresh injectors and spark plugs.
NEEDS: There is one crack in the center console, near the levers for the locking differentials, the windshield wiper switch works only on high speed (likely needs a new multifunction switch) and the factory air conditioning doesn't work.
I tossed in a few photos from Cars & Coffee up here in DC a few weeks ago for good measure. Enjoy!
Please drop us a note if you're interested. Thanks so much!
