1990 420sel for sale in VA
The engine was replaced a year from another 420sel with similar mileage. I had changed the timing belt on the old engine and within a few months, the the right side of the engine wasn’t getting oil even though pressure was registering normally. As a result the rod snapped and at least 2 of the valves are bent. I replaced the engine with one from 1989 420sel with 102K which was less mileage than on the vehicle at the time.
Other items replaced within the last year include new water pump, starter, both front brake calipers, idle control valve. I had the car tuned up recently and installed new wires, spark plugs, battery and O2 sensor.
The car
1) Rear bumper
2) Cruise control
3) The driver side rear window will need a new regulator. The other 3 windows work fine.
4) The car has developed a slightly unsteady idle and there is noticeable knocking sound from the right side of the engine. Does not effect driveability but it's there. Had a shop check the chain and it does not seem to be the issue. Could be lifters or a stuck valve but just have not delved further as I have already put a lot of money into what was supposed to be an inexpensive second hand car.
Open to reasonable offers. Car is located in Ashburn, VA.
