EXTERIOR
Paint has minor scratches and small dents consistent with a 24 year old car.
Wrapped in matte clear PlasiDip; hides a lot of the paint imperfections
Hella euro headlights with Bosch euro lens (not cheap aftermarket)
SilverStar low beam bulbs
the underside of the car has a thick coating of fluid film to prevent any potential corrosion
also coated the car when rear subframe was removed from car for bushing replacement
I drove in the winter only a few times per winter
VERY CAPABLE in the snow. Total drifter.
ENGINE
sourced engine from a 1990 300e M103 3.0 liter with 60k miles.
Replaced headgasket; valve guide seals; water pump ; CIS rubber boots below distributor and idle valve hoses; balanced
injectors; distributor cap and rotor; non-resistor spark plugs; air and fuel filter; ALL MERCEDES PARTS
TRANSMISSION
sourced from 1986 190e 2.3 m102; owned by a mechanic; shifts like new
flywheel sourced from a 1988 260e and resurfaced at a machine shop
overdrive 5 speed; allows the car to cruise at 2500rpm at modern highway speeds
averages 25mpg with mixed driving
replaced all bearings; pressure plate; friction disc; fluid; clutch slave
replaced front and rear flex discs; driveshaft carrier and bearing
rear differential fluid changed (3.27 gear ratio; perfect)
at slower speeds the speedometer needle bounces sometimes
BRAKES
rebuilt front calipers; brake master cylinder; all brake hoses;
all four rotors and pads; ebrake functions perfect
SUSPENSION
replaced all coil springs and shocks (lesjorfors/bilstein) ; spring seats to level ride height; tie rod assemblies; idler arm
bushings; steering dampner; ball joints; rear all four subframe bushings and balljoints; flushed P/S and replaced filter;
sourced wheels from CLK;
replaced tires with CONTI DW summer tires 205/50R16
handles excellent but very comfortable ride for New England roads; as a Mercedes Benz should
EXHAUST
replaced cat back with bosal exhaust system
still maintains factory cat in good condition
INTERIOR
replaced heater core and rebuilt all vacuum pods and blend flap resistor;
climate control system works as new
AC receiver dryer changed and charged with new PAG oil and R134a
ALPINE CD/DATA/USB stereo professionally wired;
Dash and rear parcel shelf speakers replaced;
Rear parcel shelf is wrong color because sourced from grey interior car
All window regulators serviced (lock tight all hardware; greased all moving parts)
Vacuum lock system functions and has no leaks;
I only use OE or OEM parts (mercedes; lemforder; bilstein; behr; lesjofors; etc)
Tons of spare parts available. I took three cars to build this custom W201.
Also available are a set of Bridgestone Blizzak 185/65/15 snow tires on OEM w124 wheels in plastidip black
Also available Tirerack/ASA 15” TYPE 8 wheels in great condition
