FS: 1987 190 2.3 16v
I took the stock wheels off and bought EVO wheels from a 190 3.4 24v. One of the wheels is not perfectly round.
I removed the aftermarket stereo unit and sent in the stock Becker radio unit to Becker Autosound LLC and had the faceplate replaced and had an auxiliary audio modification done so that a cable allowing for any audio input that uses a 3.5 mm mini stereo phone is available for an external audio device to be played. I also changed out the rear deck with a different 190 deck and added improved speakers and a subwoofer.
This car has not been driven in the winter. It is always stored in a clean and dry garage.
Minor things I have done since I bought this car: 2 rear hydraulic shocks replaced. replaced grayed washer nozzles and wiper assembly. Blower fan switch replaced. New Bosch blower motor installed. New washer reservoir. New rear suspension arms. New muffler. Replaced right rear window regulator. Replaced door check straps. New windshield. New body trim clips where needed. analogue clock
replaced. Bulbs in dash replaced. Speedometer cable replaced with new Mercedes cable. New motor mounts and new transmission mount. Interior cracked wood pieces replaced. All fluids including SLS flushed. EHA replaced with new. All new fuses.
This car has the stock SLS suspension and it is a wonderful ride. I prefer it to any other. This car has no rattles. It is tight and handles well.
The paint is not perfect. I have taken pictures where attempts to touch up were done. There is a crack in the spoiler. I bought another one which is black and needs painting and will be included with the purchase.
Everything works in this car but the cruise control, which didn't work when I bought it. I never use it so did not fix it. There is a battery drain issue with the seat relay. I replaced the relay but that isn't the problem. I do not adjust my seat or if someone else drives I put the relay in. I just do not leave it in when I am not driving the car. The owner's manual is in the glovebox.
The battery is brand new. It is an Optima AGM redtop.
The engine runs smoothly. There was a cold start issue that wasn't resolved by replaced temperature sensors so we made a bypass that works beautifully. There is no starting issue any longer.
I did find a couple of small areas of rust in the wheel well areas under the trim. I removed the rust and painted the cleaned surfaces with Mercedessource's Miracle Paint. There is a small crack in the dash on the driver side.
In short, this car has been gone over with a fine-toothed comb and is in excellent mechanical condition. The interior is restored to excellent condition as well. The exterior paint is good but not perfect. At this time, the car needs nothing. Please look at the photos of what was done before I bought the car and photos of the car itself. This is a very special vehicle of which there are fewer and fewer. This car has been taken to the local Cars and Coffee events and gets a lot of attention.
Pictures and description of what has been done, on Minneapolis Craigslist. Miles: 157,000. Price: 17,500 obo
