Dubai to Mumbai, customs regulations for personal car transfer
I'm not sure I expect someone to know an answer to this, but I'll try. I'll be sent to Mumbai for a year starting next summer and am planning to take my B class merci with me.
From personal experience I have had the car delivered to Germany and back again, but India is a very different animal. As a personal car, has anyone any experience on transferring between those two borders and how much difficulty I will encounter?

As far as I know, taking a private car for zour own use with you should not be a problem anywhere, really. But you can check this website to be sure: www.certification-india.com/ais/ , they write about import restrictions for Automobiles.
However, there's a much bigger elephant looming in the room here: Why would you want to drive your own car in a city like Mumbai? Chances are you're gonna stand in traffic jam with rickshaws and motorcycles bumping into you every 5 meters.... if take a car at all, don't take your own I'd say!
