We have a 1984 560SL that gets driven very little. 24K original miles. When starting it it seems to idle quite high, nearly 2k RPM and then when putting it into gear there is a heavy clunk and the rear of car dips.

Looking for an experienced, and good mechanic to have a look and see what needs to be done.


Chicago north shore is ideal but will travel reasonable distance for the best.
